The Wizard of Oróz (Mágico de Oróz in original Portuguese) is a wizard who helped Didi and his friends find water that they could take to the city of Oróz. The Wizard of Oróz is portrayed by Dary Reis.

History[]

When Didi and his friends, Passoura, Tonel, and Delegate Lion, went to The Wizard of Oróz's house, he was furious with them for invading his space. Didi tried to explain himself, but the Wizard was not convinced and insisted they should be punished. Didi and his friends tried to leave the house, accidentally meeting with the Wizard. Upon seeing them, the Wizard asked what they wanted. Passoura answered that he wanted a brain, Tonel, a heart, and Delegate Lion, courage. The Wizard replied by saying that fear was another side of courage, it could mean virtue for those who think and walk, just as carrying a heart in the chest or a brain in the head did not mean the plenitude of the soul. When Didi asked him for a glass of water, the Wizard said that he had lived there for over 300 years and he only saw water in his magic mirror. Didi asked why the Wizard didn't do some magic to make it rain a lot of water, to which the Wizard replied that it was because the men promised the people of the sertão that they could plant, they could irrigate water and that it wouldn't be with prayer, promises or a charlatan wizard that it would rain in the sertão. The Wizard then went on to say that an old sertanejo told him a story that during voting time a metal monster appeared and, twisting his ear, spouted water from his mouth. The Wizard showed them the location of the monster through his magic mirror and told them that to find such a monster it was necessary to keep moving forward, fighting if necessary, but never losing sensitivity.

Upon leaving Wizard's house, Didi and his friends met Colonel Ferreira. Colonel Ferreira was indignant at them because, in addition to trying to steal his water, they also asked that healer for help. Threatening to kill them, Colonel Ferreira threw a machete towards Didi, hitting the ground a few centimeters from her foot. Didi took the machete and threatened to kill Colonel Ferreira, who revealed he had a second machete. The two started to fight until Colonel Ferreira managed to disarm Didi. Seeing that Didi was in danger, the Wizard sent him a magical bone that allowed him to win the fight. Seeing that the bone given to her made a peculiar noise when being brought to the ground, Didi threw it into the air, causing the bone to grow several times its own size. Didi, Passoura, Tonel and Leão then mounted the bone and flew towards the city of Rio de Janeiro, almost colliding with Christ the Redeemer if it weren't for the Wizard who forced them to land at the base of the statue and made the bone disappear. From there, Didi could see the “monster” that spouted water from its mouth, which was actually a giant spigot. As soon as they reached the giant spigot, Didi pulled the biggest spigot, or the mother as he put it, and asked his companions for help so he could carry it back to Oróz. As not even the four of them together had enough strength to carry the spigot much further, and the sole of Didi's old shoe had already come off, Didi asked the Wizard of Oróz for strength and a new shoe. The Wizard then gave Didi a shoe-shaped car that allowed them to complete their mission and disappeared once they reached Oróz. (Os Trapalhões e o Mágico de Oróz (film))
