Tugg is a wooden tugboat that resides in the Land of Oz, from Roger S. Baum's non-canonical Dorothy of Oz.
History[]
Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion designed and built Tugg from limbs gathered from the Talking Trees on the banks of the Munchkin River, some straw to make it waterproof, vines to make the ropes that held them together, and a foghorn out of a hollow log with vine for a cord. After Dorothy painted a mouth on Tugg and named him, Tugg began to speak. Tugg told the Talking Trees that he would travel the Munchkin River and tell them of what he has seen.
When Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion were in the Gamekeeper's maze, Tugg used his foghorn to help them get out before time ran out. Tugg then continued to carry the group down the Munchkin River until they reached the Munchkin Village.
When Tugg got close to where the China Country is located, Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and China Princess disembarked as Tugg headed back to the Talking Trees to tell them what he had seen on his journey.
Before her confrontation with the Jester, Dorothy had Wiser the Owl look for Tugg and tell him of their progress.
After the Jester was freed from the possession of the Wicked Witch of the West's wand, Tugg later appeared on the part of the Munchkin River near Princess Gayelette's castle with Wiser and the Dragons that were encountered along the way.(Dorothy of Oz)

- Tugg also appeared in the 2014 animated adoption, Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return voiced by Patrick Stewart. Like in the book, he is used as a tugboat. During the confrontation with The Jester, Tugg spawns all the soldiers from all the locations of Oz.
