"The King Who Changed His Mind" is a short story written by L. Frank Baum and published circa 1901.

It is the story of the "Mad King" of Arol who hated children. One day he decided that all the children of the kingdom should be killed. A fairy named Hallita then transformed the king himself into a child, forcing him to change his mind and repeal the edict.
