Biography[]
Born on April 13, 1950, in Washington Heights, New York City, USA. Perlman initially studied acting at the University of Minnesota, and later, he trained at the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse. He began his career in the late 1970s with minor roles in various television shows and films. One of his early notable roles was as Vincent in the TV series "Beauty and the Beast" (1987-1990), for which he earned a Golden Globe Award.
In the 1990s, Perlman gained widespread recognition for his collaboration with director Guillermo del Toro. He starred in del Toro's acclaimed films "Cronos" (1993), "Blade II" (2002), and, most notably, "Hellboy" (2004) and its sequel "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" (2008). Perlman's portrayal of the titular character, a demon with a heart of gold, solidified his status as a beloved actor in the science fiction and fantasy genres.
