Quick City is a place somewhere in the Land of Oz where nothing happens slowly.

The most notable fact about the City is that its buildings move about instead of staying in one place. Pedestrians have to watch that they aren't knocked down, not by cars and trucks as in most cities, but by banks and barber shops. The entire natural order of the place is affected: plants grow quickly, then wither away just as fast.
The male members of the Quix, as the residents call themselves, make their lives conform to the general tendency of the place by wearing their Lively Hoods, which force them to grow older, then younger in rapid succession. (The Yellow Knight of Oz)
