Passoura is a scarecrow that joined Didi, Tatu, and Soró on their trip to the city of Oróz. Passoura is portrayed by Zacarias.

After Didi, Tatu, and Soró decided to leave that dry land where they were suffering and set out in search of the city of Oróz, they arrived at a fork in the road where Didi saw a scarecrow. Didi decided to approach the scarecrow and ask him if he knew the way to Oróz. Soró told Didi to stop being silly, since scarecrows don't talk, to which Didi replied that Soró looked like a scarecrow and was talking. The scarecrow laughed at the joke made by Didi, leaving the three of them curious about him. So they decide to go around the scarecrow, realizing that it was staring at them, making a face and turning the log to which it was tied to see them better, terrifying Didi and Tatu, with the latter calling it a Judas doll. Being peer-pressured to get closer, Didi noticed the living scarecrow's silly appearance, describing it as a cross between a clown and a broomstick, which is why Didi called it Passoura (a portmanteau of palhaço, Portuguese for clown, and vassoura, Portuguese for broom). Passoura then explained to them that he didn't have a brain, because if he had one, then the caracaras would have already eaten him, and that he needed to be tied to the trunk to be able to better monitor the plantation. Tatu then pointed out to Passoura that the plantation had already died, and that he was really brainless not to have realized it until that moment. Pasoura then began to cry, making the three feel sorry for him and giving Didi the idea to take the scarecrow with them to Oróz so that a doctor could put brains inside its head. As the three began to untie Passoura, the scarecrow saw a gang of caracaras approaching them. The caracaras first tried to attack Didi, but when he escaped they then turned their attention to Passoura, attacking him. Didi and Tatu decided to take a stick and attack the caracaras, killing them all. After the battle was won, Didi and Tatu helped Passoura to get down from the trunk and Didi taught Passoura how to walk, as he had never learned it before.
Later, Tatu found a house where there could have water, so Didi and Passoura went there. After making sure that there was no one inside the house, Didi broke in the window, while Passoura went through the door. Finding nothing on the first floor, they went up to the second, where they found a bunch of frogs, giving Didi the idea of capturing them to make soup, to which Passoura agrees. During the frog hunting, Didi knocked on one of the metal barrels, then heard a groan coming out of it, making Passoura think that the house was haunted. Hitting the same barrel again, they heard the groaning again, making Didi think that she had a goat trapped inside the barrel, leading him to open it. A head came out of the open barrel, which began to ask for a fortifying agent. Passoura went to get the fortifying agent and put it into a hole in Tonel's shoulder, which began to flow into another hole in Tonel's navel. Didi had the idea to stop the leak using one of the corncobs stuck to the scarecrow. Tonel thanked they both, stating that if he had a heart he would love them until the last drop of his blood were turned into vapor. Passoura then suggests taking Tonel with them to Oróz so that the doctor could give him a heart.
Arriving in Oróz, a group of children surrounded Passoura and Tonel, wanting to set them on fire. The two of them ran away to school, where teacher Aninha scolded the children, telling them to leave Passoura and Tonel alone.
While Didi, Tatu, and Soró were being chased by police officers, Passoura and Tonel watched them along with the children and Aninha from behind the bars of the school wall, until the moment the police started shooting, when Aninha decided to take everyone inside. When Delegate Lion arrived with a troop surrounding the school, he threatened Didi and his friends by saying that he would count to five and if they didn’t leave by the end of the count, he would shoot them. Passoura, along with Didi and his friends, gave themselves up.
As in Oróz, thieves are condemned and tried in a public square, but in response to Aninha’s requests, Delegate Lion challenged Didi to fight with him, if Didi won he could take his gang and leave the city, but if he lost they they would be judged in the public square. During the fight, Lion knocked out Didi, winning the fight. After the trial, the judge decided to arrest Tatu and Soró, and their sentence would only be served if Didi, Passoura, and Tonel, accompanied by Delegate Lion, brought water to the city.
After traveling through the desert, Didi and his friends found the Wizard of Oróz’s house. Surrounding the house, they noticed that it had no door. Didi reasoned that since it was a wizard’s house, he wouldn’t need a door, but a magic word. Didi then uttered the spell: “abracadabra, azeitona de cabra”, which created a hole in the ground, into which Didi and his friends fell, teleporting to the inside of the Wizard’s house. The Wizard, aware of their presence, caused na earthquake and raised his voice, asking who they were and why they had invaded his space. Didi tried to explain himself, but the Wizard was not satisfied with it, saying they mocked him and they deserved to be punished. As they tried to find a way out of Wizard's house, they accidentally found out where the Wizard was, he asked them what they wanted, to which Passoura answered he wanted a brain. The Wizard lectured him, telling him that a brain in his head would not bring peace to his soul. Then Didi asked if they could have a glass of water, to which the wizard said that he had not seen water outside his magic mirror for 300 years. Didi asked why the Wizard didn’t make it rain with his magical powers, to which the Wizard replied that it was because the men promised the people of the sertão that they could plant, they could irrigate water and that it wouldn’t be with prayer, promise, or a charlatan wizard that it would rain in the sertão. The Wizard then told them that na old sertanejo told him the story about a metal monster that, twisting its ear, spurted water through its mouth. The Wizard stated that to find this monster it was necessary to move forward, fighting if necessary, but always losing sensitivity.
While leaving Wizard’s house, Didi and his friends met with Colonel Ferreira. Colonel Ferreira was outraged at them because, in addition to trying to steal his water, they also asked that healer for help. Colonel Ferreira then ordered his minions to attack while he himself focused on Didi. One of Colonel Ferreira's minions attacked Passoura with a machete, which, as he was a scarecrow, did not cause him any harm. The minion then grabbed Passoura and started pulling the straw out of him. Didi then, with the bone that the Wizard had given him a little while ago, hit the minion, throwing him onto a nearby rock and magically handcuffs appeared on the minion's arms, trapping him to said stone. Delegate Lion then took advantage of the surrounding threats being neutralized and began to refill the scarecrow with straw. Seeing that the bone given to him made a peculiar noise when brought near to the ground, Didi threw it far into the air, causing the bone to grow multiple times its own size. Didi, Passoura, Tonel, and Lion then mounted the bone and flew to the city of Rio de Janeiro, almost crashing into Christ the Redeemer if it weren’t for the Wizard who forced them to land at the base of the statue and made the bone disappear. From there, Didi was able to see the “monster” that spurted water through its mouth, which was actually a giant spigot. They then took bicycles and pedaled towards the spigot, on the way colliding against a can stack, almost causing a traffic accident, and knocking down a fruit seller’s stall. As soon as they reached the giant spigot, they caused chaos, knocking over the basins that people used to wash their clothes. Didi then pulled out the biggest of the spigots, or the mother as Didi puts it, and asked for help from his companions to be able to carry it back to Oróz. As even the four of them together didn’t have enough strength to take the spigot much further, and the sole of Didi’s old shoe had already come off, Didi asked the Wizard of Oróz for strength and a new shoe. The Wizard then gave Didi a shoe-shaped car that disappeared as soon as they arrived in Oróz. Upon seeing Didi and his friends with the spigot arriving in Oróz, the city celebrated, as they would finally have some water. Much to the city’s disappointment, the four did not expect that the spigot would not work when disconnected from its plumbing and could not supply water, causing the Oróz’s population to revolt against them and the mayor to sentence them to death. Didi convinced his companions to have faith that the rain would fall and save them, so their song of faith miraculously caused rain to fall from the sky and the “monster” finally spouted water from its mouth.
