O Mágico Di Ó is a 2022 script book by Vitor Rocha based on his play of same name. The illustrations were made by Nireuda Longobardi and were inspired by the woodcuts used in cordel literature.
Synopsis[]
Dorotéia is forced to leave her home and accompany her piblings on a journey to São Paulo. Among the migrants traveling in the pau de arara truck is Osvaldo, a poet and playwright who tells Dorotéia the story of a land full of magic but facing some problems.
Upon hearing the story, Dorotéia finds herself transported to a magical land and meets two women, the Wicked Witch and the Good Witch, who suggest she seek out the Mágico Di Ó. Along the way, the girl meets three new friends: Mamulengo, Cabra-de-Lata, and Leão. Together, they follow the brick road in search of the Mágico who can help them.
Written in theatrical form, poetry, music, adventure and fun mark this retelling of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, a classic of world literature.[1]
