Jimmy Jones was a little boy from the United States, who met some visitors from the Land of Oz. He worked at the Playland Amusement Park where he met a party consisting of the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, Jack Pumpkinhead, the Sawhorse, Wogglebug, and the Gump. They mistook his amusement park for a city and enjoyed some of the rides. Jack Pumpkinhead's head fell off during a ride and landed atop the front gate. Jimmy climbed it and helped retrieve the head, though he got stuck and the Scarecrow had to rescue him from the Gump. The Ozians then told him their stories.
