After an awkward moment of complete silence upon the crowd being stunned by Elphaba's arrival, she decides to slowly follow along to her dance before the crowd joins in. She also develops a love interest for the Winkie Prince Fiyero who shares his philosophy of "Dancing Through Life" though seemingly unaware that he is also interested in Elphaba who in turn thinks "I'm Not That Girl" who can love him.
In her history class, she was irked that the goat professor Doctor Dillamond didn't have the vocal ability to pronounce "Ga-linda" so he calls her Glinda instead. This name she adopts in solidarity for Animal rights after he is taken away per not being allowed to teach humans anymore. In response to this gesture among other kind acts such as handing Elphaba a guidebook on the Emerald City, Elphaba spontaneously wants her to come meet the Wizard for "One Short Day". This pivotal decision has her witness to Elphaba's discontentment upon learning that he has no magic of his own, and that he's responsible for the subjugation of plus prejudice toward Animals. After they get surrounded by the Wizard's guards and flying monkeys, Elphaba flies off on a broom while she remains there with Madame Morrible who interprets that Elphaba's actions equate to insubordination as a Wicked Witch.
Years after she arrives by bubble Munchkinland upon the munchkins learning that Elphaba is presumably dead after being melted with water by Dorothy Gale. Upon getting ready to leave for the Wizard's balloon departure, one of the attendees asks if the rumor was true that she knew the Wicked Witch and confirms yes by telling the story of going to Shiz.
