Princess Dorothy Gale is the titular main protagonist of Dorothy and The Wizard of Oz. After the defeat of the Wicked Witch of the West, she was made princess of the Land of Oz.

Appearance[]

Just like her film counterpart, Dorothy is a young farm girl who lived in Kansas, before she and her dog, Toto, were whisked away by a twister to the wonderful land of Oz. Dorothy has brown hair put into pigtails with bright blue bows on it. She also has black eyes, three eyelashes, brown eyebrows and she wears a blue dress with blue patterns on it. She also wears white socks and her beloved Ruby Slippers on her feet.

Personality[]

Dorothy is a very brave and courageous princess. She's got an extremely kind heart, and will always help her friends out of danger. Aside from her cheerful nature, Dorothy very rarely gets angry. But this happened when Wilhelmina controlled her emotions with a mood ring. And before the wicked Nome King turned Dorothy into a white cat. However, aside from all this, Dorothy is sweet, quick-thinking, helpful, friendly and amicable. And she's always willing to help out her friends, introduce the Ozians to customs from back in Kansas and fight the forces of evil in Oz.

  • Dorothy was originally played by the late American actress, singer, and dancer Judy Garland in the 1939 Wizard of Oz film.
  • Her voice actress, Kari Wahlgren, was also from Kansas. She also said, “I mean, every time I would say, ‘Hey, I'm from Kansas,’ people would say, ‘Oh, you're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy. So it's been kind of a dream come true. There was something about this one that was very emotional.”
    • Kari Wahlgren, also voiced Dorothy in Phineas and Ferb two-part episode, Wizard of Odd.
  • In “Kingdom of Dreams”, her Ruby Slippers were changed into Mary Jane Ruby Slippers when she became a kid.
