Ondino Sant'Anna, artistically known as Dino Santana (pronounced: DEE-noo san-TAN-nah), was a Brazilian actor, director, producer, and comedian. He played the role of the Beatus of the Desert in the 1984 Brazilian parody film Os Trapalhões e o Mágico de Oróz.
Biography[]
Born in the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Region to the clown Oscar Santana, better known by his circus name, Picolino, and the contortionist Ondina Santana, and was raised by a family descended from romani, among circus artists, Dino was the brother of the trapalhão Dedé Santana, with whom he worked as the duo "Maloca e Bonitão", in addition to countless works they carried out alongside Os Trapalhões. He was the nephew of fellow comedian Colé Santana. He only participated as supporting and unnamed characters, which made his recognition difficult for some people. But he played the character Beatus of the Desert ("Beato do deserto" in the original Portuguese) in the 1984 film "Os Trapalhões e o Mágico de Oróz". He also acted as, among other characters, the supporting role Manoel Joaquimin in the 2005-to-2008 TV series "Dedé e o Comando Maluco" by José Sampaio that aired on SBT.
