Dary Hugo dos Reis, or simply Dary Reis (pronounced: DAH-ree HEH-ees), was a Brazilian actor. In the 1984 Brazilian parody film Os Trapalhões e o Mágico de Oróz, Dary Reis played The Wizard of Oróz.
Biography[]
Born in Formigueiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Dary Reis stood out in the 1950s, when he was Captain Estrela on TV Tupi, whose program was sponsored by the toy factory Estrela.
His performances on Rede Globo de Televisão began in 1967 in the soap opera “Anastácia, a Mulher sem Destino”, while his last work on this network was in the soap opera “Bang-Bang”, from 2005. On the network he also participated in the 1970s children’s series “Sítio do Pica-Pau Amarelo”, based on the book series by Monteiro Lobato, where he played Captain Hook.
He died in 2010, aged 84. The cause of death was not revealed.
