Colorado was the home of the Shaggy Man and his brother before they immigrated to the Land of Oz. It is one of the 50 (48 at the time) United States of America. Ruggedo the Nome King was able to extend his influence to Colorado, where the younger man was a miner, in order to take him prisoner for tapping into a vein of ore which Ruggedo claimed.
