The China Princess (voiced and sung by Megan Hilty) is a main character in Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return (2014). She is the ruler of Dainty China County and the love interest of Marshal Mallow.
Appearence[]
The China Princess is seen in period appropriate outfits of that of the late 18th century, usually dressed in red. Her hair is well styled, naturally wavy, in a style of this time as well. She is seen originally in a large red dress and huge hoop skirt however we see her change into something more practical, a red dress and coat with a little golden ascot.
Personality[]
The china princess originally comes off as a snobby, egotistical ruler. Caring more about appearance than personality, however this seems to start to change when Marshal Mallow appeals as a suitor to aid Dorothy in crossing through china town to get to the Emerald City. She originally mocks his appearance but is stunned to silence by his singing voice, the awkward man making a genuine attempt. There was then an earthquake, Marshal Mallow instinctively running to protect her, winning her over.
She was still however brought to a shrill laugh when Dorothy requested to cross through the china kingdom but was quickly silenced when the China princess saw the state of her county. She decides to task Marshal Mallow with the job of protecting her, something that seems to fail when she smashes after Tugg, the boat they were sailing, falls down a waterfall after helping them make the ship, becoming much more selfless in the process.
Miraculously, Marshal Mallow is able to repair her, she revives with a new mentality "Fractured, but not broken." Showing how far she had truly come, becoming much friendlier and loving, especially to the Marshal.

Trivia[]
- China people become inanimate upon leaving the china walls in the book, however this does not appear to be the case in the movie, as the China Princess is still able to walk and talk outside the walls.
