The Candy Man dusting himself with sugar
The Candy Man of Merryland is an important personage in the Valley of Bonbons. He and his wife live in the largest house with their son Huyler and several servants, including Aunt Lowney and Allegretti.
The Candy Man is short and fat, and wears a tall hat, swallow-tail coat, and tight breeches. He has bones made of stick candy, and his flesh is marshmallow. He walks with a candy cane, and carries a shaker of powdered sugar with which he coats himself to prevent melting or sticking. He has no teeth, since he eats nothing but candy. (Dot and Tot of Merryland)
The Candy Man once visited the Emerald City in the Land of Oz with the Queen of Merryland and four of her wooden soldiers to celebrate Ozma's birthday. (The Road to Oz)
Other appearances[]
The Candy Man appears in the Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz episode "Haunt Me Not" voiced by Steve Blum. He came to the Land of Oz from the Valley of Bonbons through the Red Brick Road and has taken refuge in an abandoned house. Candy Man survived by targeting the candies that Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Jack Pumpkinhead obtained while trick or treating. With help from Dorothy, Candy Man is returned home to the Valley of Bonbons where the Cowardly Lion takes some of their candy
